Introduction
The Aspex Entrance Doorset is the ideal solution for accommodation schemes where PAS24 is not a requirement, but fire, smoke, and acoustic performance is a necessity.
The pre-hung factory assembled doorset is tested for BS8214 and meets the requirements for clear opening widths within approved document M, and, to complete the doorset solution by combining the doorset with our high quality door closer, it will also comply with opening force requirements.
Door
The solidcore door construction can be supplied to achieve various duty ratings up to severe duty (DD171), and is available in a range of bespoke or standard sizes.
The door is available in a range of attractive finishes including real wood veneers, foils, and laminates, and is primed for on-site painting or a full factory paint finish to any RAL number.
Frame
The frame can be manufactured from MR MDF, softwood, or hardwood, and can be supplied as primed for on-site painting or in a factory finished polished/lacquered hardwood to match the timber veneer on the face of the door.
The frames are supplied with a factory fitted intumescent seal when fire rated, and a separate acoustic and smoke seal, which has a low resistance, ensuring compliance with opening force requirements.
Performance
Fire
The doorsets have been tested to BS 476 part 22 and are available as NFR, FD30 & FD60.
All fire rated doorsets are manufactured under the stringent BWF Certifire scheme.
Accoustic
The doorset has been tested to BSENISO 140-3:1995 and has an acoustic rating of 32RwdB. The door is supplied with a factory fitted drop down seal.
Door Furniture
An extensive range of door furniture can be supplied to complement the entrance door set, including standard round bar designs that are suitable for both apartment and student accommodation schemes.
Designer ranges specifically for hotel and apartment schemes are also available, including our own Integra Living Door furniture collection, together with manufacturers’ ranges including Valli Valli, Marriani, and Mandelli.
Locking
The entrance doorsets are available with a choice of locking options, including multipoint locks or a conventional sashlock or nightlatch.
Multipoint locks offer a higher level of security. However, these are expensive and in locations such as student bedroom doors, entered from a shared cluster area, a sashlock will provide sufficient security.
The locks can be operated by either standard differ or master keyed cylinders, and these are available in different security levels, ranging from standard 5-pin systems up to patent protected multi profile systems.
Access Control
The Salto access control system has been used extensively on both student and MOD accommodation schemes, and offers unrivalled flexibility for building managers at an affordable cost.
Systems are also available specifically for the hotel and apartment sectors, have an aesthetically pleasing design, and work in conjunction with a wide variety of lever handle options.
Hanging
The doorsets are supplied with the door pre-hung in the frame on three hinges, or alternatively, our concealed adjustable hinge can be used, which is completely invisible when the door is closed.
